The more the truth comes out about the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the more the Fanta Menace’s administration doubles down on their narrative, apparently thinking if they say something enough, it will come true. I do believe in fairies! I do! I do! And they take the evidence and make it 12 times more extreme.

Witness Triple SecDef Pete Kegsbreath’s desperate attempt at a press conference a few days ago talking about the “destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities”, for which he is being roundly mocked: “President Trump directed the most complex and secretive military operation in history, and it was a resounding success, resulting in a ceasefire agreement and the end of the 12-day war.”

Operation Overlord (D-Day) and Operation Centerboard (dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima) and Operation Center Spear (got Bin Laden) have entered the chat. But no, this failed mission is the most complicated, successful, tremendous military operation that ever militaried and don’t you forget it. Doesn’t matter if both Iran and Israel violated the ceasefire, after the Fanta Menace had posted about it, and now he’s lashing out and using Kegsbreath to do it.

Kegsbreath has had it, officially, with the media, and took some time away from his office bar cart to let them know it, telling a group of reporters that “Because you cheer against Trump so hard, it’s like in your DNA and in your blood to cheer against Trump. You have to cheer against the efficacy of these strikes [on Iran]. You have to hope maybe they weren’t effective. Maybe the way the Trump administration’s represented isn’t true… to try to cause doubt or manipulate the mind—the public mind over whether or not our brave pilots were successful.”

Then it got weird. “How many stories have been written about how hard it is to, I don’t know, fly a plane for 36 hours. Have we done this story, how hard that is? Have we done it two or three times? How about we talk about how special America is?”

I think you and I can agree that yes, flying planes is hard to do, and bombers especially. And dropping your bomb on a very precise target is an impressive feat and I don’t know anyone who is saying otherwise. But all Kegsbreath and his daddy seem to want the media to do is write little feature articles about “oooh planes hard” and “The world sucks America’s dick” apparently. Certainly they aren’t liking the fact that the truth of the mission is coming out, and that no one is casting aspersions at all against the pilots. But Kegsbreath is taking it all so personally, because his daddy is taking it all so personally, and the resulting temper tantrums are pretty entertaining to watch. Meanwhile, we the media keep on writing the truth. All I hear is criticize, criticize, criticize! Name that movie quote. But he got in trouble with daddy about daddy’s birthday party and he is so desperate to get back into the Fanta Menace’s good graces. I wonder what his childhood trauma is.
